Mike Dillard explains “How to Measure Your Level of Core Desire.”

Mike DillardBuildYourOwnMLM.com Why do so many people quit the business of network/internet marketing and never achieve true freedom and wealth?On the surface this may seem like a very simple question that could be answered by a few of the typical/obvious answers:

* They quit

* They didn’t plug in

* They didn’t participate

Whatever… What you want to ask yourself, or maybe even know about yourself, is why…why didn’t they follow through, while others do? When I finally learned the answer to this question last week listening to a CD in my MLM university (aka, my truck), it was quite sobering.

Not only did the reason behind their results come into the open, but the reason for my recent spat of success became apparent as well. So what’s the answer?

Why do most people fail when a select few succeed? Drum roll please…Those who do succeed have a core desire to do so. Those who don’t share that same core level of desire will not.

“Desire… Ya Mike I’ve already heard that 100 times from my upline: Just look for people with desire and you’ll do great… yada yada yada… Everyone I talk to has the desire to make more money. It hasn’t made any difference so far.”

And you’re right. The difference is in their level of desire.

The only time anything ever gets done in your life is when you follow it through to completion with a sense of urgency – when your desire to accomplish that task is at a core level of 100 on a scale of 100.

You must accomplish it. It’s a part of you. It consumes you. It dominates your thoughts above and beyond anything else each day and all day.

These are core desires, and the people who achieve notable success in network marketing, have that accomplishment as a core desire. That core desire brings them freedom and wealth.

They are the ones you see on stage and hear on the training calls. That’s it. That’s the secret.

If attaining your goal means paying off your credit cards, buying a house, saving for retirement, or firing your boss, then you are lacking core desire, you are not attached to your networking business enough, and you will not succeed. Period.

The sad truth, is that most people in the network/internet marketing industry did not buy a business, they bought hope. And hope is never backed by true desire.

Hope is for the undecided. A career in network marketing (i.e. a boss free life), has been a core desire of mine for the last 7 years.

I’ve moved across the country because of it. I’ve taken certain jobs because of it. I’ve dated or not dated because of it. I spent money on training instead of furniture because of it.

The desire to never work for anyone else again has been a dominating force in my life, and it’s the reason I didn’t quit after the first 6 years of hell. It’s the reason I continued to pour every spare cent I ever made into my business.

It’s the reason I pawned a $3,000 bike I won two state championships on to buy advertising – and came up empty.

Yet I kept going forward without doubt because I have this core desire at a level of 100 to succeed in networking.

And this means my success was 100% guaranteed. It was no longer a matter of IF, but WHEN.

So that’s why people you sponsor quit. Don’t get frustrated. 80% of people who join you will never sponsor more thanŁ rep or customer.

Most people simple don’t have the desire at a level of 100 to accomplish their goals through their new business. They just bought hope in order to quiet that little voice inside them that keeps nagging them to make a change.

Once they buy the networking business, and they don’t make $1,000 in 5 days, they can then justify their fear of change with the “logic” that it just “didn’t work,” and that they knew it was a scam to begin with… This is especially true with opportunity seekers, which is why I don’t waste my money on these types of people and why you shouldn’t either.

Ha. So sad, yet so true. People are funny aren’t they? So my question to you is… What is your desire level to achieve your goal through network marketing?

Is it at 50? (like most people) Is it at 80? (not enough) Is it at 90? (not enough)

Or is it at 100? (The only number that will produce results). You should be able to tell pretty quickly.

What do you do each day to build your business? How many books on the industry do you own? How many conference calls are you on each week? How many people do you talk to about your business/product each day?

What would you be willing to give and sacrifice to succeed? I hope the answer to that questions is “whatever it takes,” because I can promise you the end result is worth the sacrifice. So how can you tell if your prospect is going to succeed or fail from the very first phone call?

Easy…Ask them this question: “So which books are you currently reading on self-development and marketing?” Anyone who is truly serious about being a successful entrepreneur will be able to name at least one book they are reading right now.

My suggestion is that you change your mindset today and get involved. Take responsibility for your personal success and set aside the excuses that have kept you in that JOB for so many years.

Start increasing your value to the world by increasing your knowledge and abilities. Only then will the world be willing to pay you back with freedom and wealth.

Mike Dillard says, “Don’t Manage Your Prospects – It Will Drown Your Business”

Mike DillardBuildYourOwnMLM.com I remember feeling quite guilty… Almost depressed for some of the people’s lack of success on my team. If you are a network or internet marketer you can relate to the frustration of not being able to find prospects that succeed and stay in your business opportunity long-term.You probably feel that no matter how hard you try to help prospects start their business, If they’re not making a living in 12 months…they’re over it.

You continue to try various ways to encourage them, however, duplicating yourself just doesn’t seem to happen. Why? Every network marketer with at least 50 reps will start to wrestle with this question at some point.

When this happened to me I started spending the vast majority of my time developing new websites, new systems, and new tools in order to help them achieve the success they said they so badly wanted. I basically stopped sponsoring all together and got into the dreaded “management mode,” where 90% of my time was spent on training and tool development.

But the funny part, is that nothing ever changed. It didn’t matter what I did for them. It didn’t matter how bad I wanted “success” for them. The people who were getting results, continued to do so, while those who were treading water, kept treading.

Understand this right now: The only thing you can do that will truly help your business and your team members is to lead by example. Just do the things that you need to personally do on a daily basis to build your business – Advertising, prospecting, follow-up, and new rep orientation.

One training call per week for new reps, tops… Spend more of your time one-on-one with your producers, and that’s it.

Just as it is a sorting game to find new reps, it is a sorting game to find reps that will work and achieve once they join. The sad truth is that 90% of those who start a networking business aren’t really serious about becoming self-employed. They are just looking to “buy some hope,” so they can quiet the voices of discontent in their heads.

Soon enough, they’ll find an excuse as to why “it didn’t work for them,” and quit. And there’s nothing you can do about it. So:

* Don’t spend your time and energy worrying about it.

* Do not cater to their weakness.

* Do not change your tools if they are working for you.

* Do not change your website if it is working for you.

* Do not change your system if it is working for you -just because it doesn’t work for others. It never will work for them, and that is their issue, not yours.

Build YOUR business. Lead by example, and the right one’s (the few), will follow you. Put your blinders on to everything and everyone else. I tolerate zero negativity in my life now. Someone sends an unfriendly email… Adios. They’re off my list and out of my life.

I was at a convention once and I asked a whale of a network marketer what I needed to do because my down-line had gotten stagnant(I had basically stopped recruiting). “Find new blood” was his answer, and he was right. You’re not here to save people.

You’re here to give them an opportunity to save themselves. Most won’t. And only they can ever change that.

As a business owner, it’s much smarter to find “doers” and leaders than it is to turn people into them (which is basically impossible without their personal conviction to do so).

It is also very important that you leverage large numbers in your business building efforts, because you won’t even notice the whiners, complainers, and quitters when you’re dealing with thousands of people. The best way to do that is to start advertising, then build and maintain a list that you drip on over time. Each new contact will bring new, interested prospects and reps to the table.

How To Create And Provide A System That Brings Results (Mike Dillard)

Ray Kroc, the franchise master of McDonald’s was a genius in more ways than one.

Our job as networkers is no different. We sell our franchise opportunity to others, and collectively market the product to the end consumer.

Here’s the interesting part to this… McDonald’s food sucks. It’s about as far from good, fresh, quality food that you can get.

Yet it’s the largest and most successful franchise and fast food restaurant in the history of human kind. How in the world is that possible?

How can you become #1, by selling an inferior product?! It goes against everything we think we know about business. Well, this is exactly where the genius of Ray Kroc becomes apparent.

If you wish to turn your business into the ultimate franchise system that will bring you unbelievable results:

* How to build a duplicatable system so effective, that anyone who bothers to show up to work will be successful.

* How to create the machines that bring in the customers.

* How to create the marketing that sells them on your product or service.

* How to become the Ray Kroc of MLM and leave the competition’s head spinning.

Ray knew the product wasn’t going to be the initial key to success for his franchise buyers, just as your product is not the initial key to your success in your MLM business.

Having a good product is important after the fact… Once you actually have customers. Then it’s critical to give them exactly what they want.

The key to McDonald’s success, with both franchise owners and customers, was their duplicatable system. Ray knew his food couldn’t compare to the quality of other franchises.

He also knew that potential franchise buyers didn’t give a hoot about McDonald’s or their burgers. What they did want, was results (money).

So Ray sold them EXACTLY what they wanted, which wasn’t a restaurant, but a machine that acquired customers, and turned them into cash. He didn’t sell them the food, he sold them a system.

In fact the system was so fine-tuned, that you could take a team of unskilled, inexperienced high school kids, and have them run the show. All they did was flip the switches, that ran the machine, which did the majority of the work behind the scenes.

The competition didn’t have a chance. Ray’s system was like a greased chute. You turn it on, and it will bring predictable end results every time.

Franchise owners started buying and setting these machines up by the thousands, turned them on, and got the end result. That is why they bought McDonald’s over the competition.

As these machines popped up around the country, the end product to the consumer became more than just food. It became the predictable expectation and atmosphere provided by Ray’s magical machines.

And that is what McDonald’s provides better than anyone else in the world. That is their true product to the consumer.

You go to McDonald’s because you know exactly what to expect. It’s a comfort for people. So, as a network marketer, selling a business franchise, what are you selling to your potential buyers?

Unfortunately, you are probably trying to sell them on your company and your product. (A mine-is-better-than-yours-burger-with all the trimmings).

Am I right? You have a ton of websites and material about your company’s history, their record breaking growth, their debt-free finances, the ORAC value of your product, the Physician’s desk reference number, the user testimonials… Blah blah blah.

Be smart. Do what Ray did.

People get rich in this world by solving other people’s problems, and when you sell someone your opportunity, you are not solving a problem, you are giving them a bigger one!

Product and comp plans don’t make you successful. Systems do. And when I say systems, I mean a complete system which includes the pieces that bring in your customers (ads), sell them your product (marketing), and then deliver the goods.

These machines (ads and marketing) should be doing the work for you. All you need to do is push the “Go Button” and become buddies (customer service, cashiers) with the folks who come through the system. Not because you are unskilled or lazy, but because a system is duplicatable and you are not.

It provides a predictable result. Show them and sell them a system for attaining the results they want, and they could care less about ORAC values, price points, and competition.

Solve their problem. Provide them with a system that brings results, and you will reap success beyond your wildest dreams.

Does Network Marketing Work? (Mike Dillard)

For too many years, family members and friends have been bombarded by other family members and friends to join them on the great Amway ride to wealth and happiness.Did the ones trying to recruit end up successful and find their wealth? Most likely they didn’t. They had the desire to succeed, but they went about it the wrong way, driving people away from their products rather than pulling them in. A great marketing plan can be the difference between success and failure.

Does network marketing work? Yes, and there are many great marketing techniques you can use to help achieve success.

The first tip — and the one most people get wrong — is to assume that everyone will want what you have to sell, which is not true. Thinking this way will waste a lot of time and effort while you try to sell to uninterested people. Think of who your target customers are, and focus your marketing efforts on them.

When trying to build your own MLM downline, don’t waste your time on people who sign up but have no motivation or drive to succeed. Focus your attention on the people in your downline who are willing to work and forget the others.

By posting your url each time you blog you are creating back-links to your website, enhancing your Web presence.

Don’t be a stranger. Start participating in discussion forums. Find forums that relate to your business. Offer advice, answer questions and post articles.

You will be seen as an expert in your field and as someone who is willing to help. Create a signature that includes your website address, which gives others a way to check out your website.

Your goal as a network marketer is to attract people to your site. It may take a few times before they join but if they only come once chances are you have lost them as a down line prospect.

Create and publish a monthly newsletter that reminds potential clients of your products and any important upcoming events. Eliminate any pushy sales tactics or sales hype with this letter. If you keep the information useful, you will keep them interested.

Being pushy will do just that, push them away, something you want to avoid. On average it takes a website visitor seven visits before they sign up or buy anything. Without a reminder do you think they would visit your website seven times?

Another powerful marketing strategy and a great way to help build your own MLM is to write a press release. A press release gives you the opportunity to provide your story to others. When writing your press release include the who, what, where, when, why and how of your business.

A well-written press release has the capability of creating interest across the internet for a long time. This is one of the most powerful marketing tools you can utilize.

So next time you wonder: Does network marketing work? You will know the answer is yes. Be persistent, have the drive and desire to succeed and use the right marketing techniques, and you may find yourself exactly where you want to be, at the top.

How to Place a “Top Sponsor” Ezine Ad (Mike Dillard)

Mike Dillard BuildYourOwnMLM.com Ezines can be a very effective form of advertising for your network marketing or internet business, but there are a few things to take into consideration before you place an order for you ad.

When advertising with ezines the only ad you should take into consideration are “top sponsor” ads.

A top sponsor ad is a short 5-Ǫ line ad that is placed at the top of the issue and is the first thing the readers see. When writing these types of ads, be sure that you get to the point of what the reader is going to get by clicking on your link and be sure to include the URL or your tracking URL in the ad.

When considering placing an ad with an ezine owner you must first do two things:
* Subscribe to their newsletter to see the types of information they send to their subscribers. This way you will be able to follow their format and writing styles.
* Be sure that the content of that particular ezine is related to the content that you are going to be sending them. You don’t want to send out an ad about network marketing to a dating and relationships ezine.

A couple things to take into consideration: If it seems too good to be true: it is! The size of the subscriber list is not always a factor to take into consideration. For example, if an ezine has a subscriber list of 2,000 people, and the cost to place an ad is $5. You might want to find another one.

This means that the list is not that responsive to offers. But you could do a test to that list and see what happens. However if that same list has an ad price of $50, this means the list is going to be responsive.

Be sure you always track your ads to be sure you know what works and what doesn’t. The same thing goes for if an ezine has 50,000 subscribers and they only charge $10 to place an ad, this means the list is not as responsive. But if they charge $100 than you will have a better response. This is not always the case but it is a good guide to follow when selecting an ezine.

We have members who generate 2,000 to 10,ዀ leads per month with Ezines and you can too! The key to achieving these kinds of results is simple.

You have to continually set up a pipeline of ezines.

* Step 1: Test as many new Ezine sources as you can each week.

* Step 2: Keep the ones that produce and place on-going ads with them.

* Go back to Step 1 and repeat!

By the end of 90 days, you should have a substantial lead pipeline that’s generating hundreds/thousands of leads for your network marketing or internet business every month automatically.

The Secret of Professional Entrepreneurs By Mike Dillard

Mike Dillard BuildYourOwnMLM.com If you want to be a successful entrepreneur or business man/woman you need to understand one critical trait of professional entrepreneurs. They always listen to themselves and their intuition above anyone else’s opinions.Yes, professionals do have carefully chosen mentors who give them advice, but most of what they hear they do not believe without their own research and experience on the subject.

When talking finances and business with most people, I find that they are incredibly negative and ignorant. They want you to fail at your business because it justifies their existence as employees. As a matter of fact most of the people I know, even my close friends, gave me tons of crap while I was starting my company. They thought I was wasting my time and money.

Sure I failed over and over again, but I eventually figured it out as I knew all along I would. However, my friends did not see that, they only saw the failure and thought I was crazy. But each time I fell I got one step closer to my goal.

Most of the people you know base most of their opinions on:

* What their friends and family tell them

* What they see and hear on T.V.

* What they read in the paper

* Their fears

Fear can be defined as: false education appearing real. Most of the stuff you are hearing out of people’s mouths is simply their ignorant view, rather than facts or educated opinions. Most people will also dismiss something just because they don’t understand it.

Henry Ford understood this well. When he wanted to mass produce the automobile in the 1900′s people told him he was crazy. At the time no one ever imagined that someday everybody could afford and be driving an automobile. Henry Ford did. Good thing he didn’t listen to everyone who told him he was crazy.

When Henry Ford wanted to build a V-8 engine his engineers also told him it was impossible to build an eight cylinder engine. Mr. Ford had no idea how to build a V-8 engine either, but he believed it could and would be done.

After over a year and a half of struggle, frustration and repeated attempts to tell Mr. Ford the task was impossible, his engineers finally developed the V-8 engine. Only their high salary kept them working on the project for so long. Again, it is a good thing Mr. Ford did not listen to anyone else besides his own inner voice. He also had a lot more persistence than his engineers.

The idea of Federal Express was started years ago in college by a student designing a business of his own for a thesis assignment. He saw the opportunity of flying packages instead of just shipping them on the ground. This way packages could be sent across the country overnight and all over the world at a much more efficient pace.

He got an F on the assignment and the professor told him it was the dumbest business idea he had ever heard of. The dean corrected the grade and gave him a B- because it was well written. But he also laughed at the student who thought packages could be put on planes and said, “planes are for people, not packages.”

Because this student did not listen to them he revolutionized the way the world sends mail, started one of the most successful mail carrying companies in the world, and he opened lines of worldwide communication.

I am not saying not to take advice, just be careful on who you are taking your advice from, and always listen to yourself and your intuition above all else.

Do you find it hard to talk to prospects on the phone, getting hung up on, or handling objections?

I used to be like that, constantly taking the prospects that I would generate on the internet and vomit my business opportunity to them.

Time after time, I would basically get laughed at followed by am immediate “Click”.

I just couldn’t figure it out. What was I doing wrong? There were so many people out there that were effortlessly sponsoring people on the phone.

I also figured out that I am the boss, I need to control the situation, I am interviewing my prospects to see if they would be good enough to be part of my business.

Basically think of it as if you were the manager interviewing to hire a new employee.
